The main character is an orphan who gets by with the willpower to fulfill her dream: to find prince charming! (In modern day Japan).
The principle is that peoples minds and rooms are alike in that if you don't clean them, negativity arises. The two feed into each other and thus keeping a clean environment helps keep a healthy mind.
The series only lasts 3 books, but has the potential for much more. That being said, since it wrapped up so early, there were not a bunch of loose ends in the plot left untied.

Cleanliness = healthiness. In QQ Sweeper, dirt not only muddies our spaces, but our minds and hearts as well, and when it does, bugs start to infest these dark places. Sweepers fight these infestations by cleaning spaces inhabited by people, and by entering a person's "mind vault" if they should become affected internally. Negative emotions are the root, acting as a doorway for these bugs, so sweeping away the problem is not enough, consoling is also needed. This is the world young Fumi finds herself swept into. She has no home, no parents, and no job, but she has some power that allows her to withstand the toxin of the bugs. The Horikita family has need of her talents, so they offer her all she needs. The handsome and reclusive Kyutaro isn't that pleased though, but hints are made that he has good reason to not want her around. Motomi leaves little room for mystery, unless there are some big twists in later volumes. This is unfortunate because Fumi's circumstances are a stronger draw for the story than her more shallow goal of finding a rich prince to care for her. Despite this shortcoming, she is a fairly likable girl, strong, determined, outspoken, and has lots of room to grow. If QQ Sweeper focuses more on the metaphorical cleaning and the deeper matters of the mind and heart than the fetishes, it could become a rather refreshing series.
