Enjoyed This Historical/Suspense/Romance,But Could Have Used A Little More Ooomph!

Tracie Peterson is one of my favorite authors. I have read her Heirs of Montana,Alaskan Quest series, and my favorite series by her are still her Harvey Girl Romances.... Desert Roses and especially her Westward Chronicles.

Since I am especially interested in the American Southwest area[and Pacific Northwest] I was excited to see she has a new series set in the southwest.

I enjoyed the story and the characters, except for of course hating the villian, but I was disappointed that there wasn't any mention of the differences in the SW from where the main characters came from in VA,except for the mentions of the tex-mex food cooked by the Mexican ranch cook.I would have liked to have read how they had to adapt to scorpions and tarantulas ect as in the Harvey Girls books.I also thought the pacing was very slow in this book, and the romance between the two leads needed more spark/chemistry/physical attraction.

Otherwise, a good read.
