Nutrition is important too - Dr. Lodge recommends never eating between meals - a simple rule but not always easy to do! He says to avoid eating junk food - a basic but simple action too!

This is a 2011 talk show about aging.
Motion is the first great key to taking charge of your biology.
Exercise transforms your body and brain at the cellular level.
Surprisingly, emotion transforms your body and brain as well.
This is an informative and eye-opening talk show.

In and of itself, this talk by Dr. Lodge isn't worth very much. It's simply too vague, and honestly almost useless, as it is so short on details that I seriously doubt it would effect any change in most viewers lives. Viewers will have to spend an enormous amount of time researching these broad recommendations further in order to actually learn how to implement them. For example, the recommendation that strength training be implemented to guard against frailty as we age....well, he's leaving out all the important details, like: which exercises yield the most results, how many sets, how many repetitions, how fast should the exercises be performed, and how much rest between sets & between workouts. These details are all vitally important as to whether your strength training will be successful, and since sports scientists have a pretty clear framework for successful strength training routines, it seems pretty prudent to pass along that information to the viewers. I'm being pretty harsh because I know that the devil is in the details, and most people will never be able to implement a successful strength program without being told exactly how to do so. I'm just using the strength training as one example, Dr. Lodge is equally vague on all areas he covered, so be prepared to do a lot of follow-up reading, and likely lots of Youtube video viewing as well. This video needed to be upwards of 4 to 6 hours to give viewers implementable coverage of the topic.

A worthwhile watch. Simple ideas which if put into action could make a big difference it the quality of life as we age. Motion and Emotion are both important.
