Well for those who feel that the storyline is "completely illogical and unbelievable" there is an announcement from Duke University that they have tested a Brainet which is the basis of the plot line. Somethings are unlikely to happen but it is a story. Some of the physics laws have been modified. The book is very close to what Steve Berry would write.

Boring, slow and a waste of paper and time. A review on the book cover put this author in the same rank with Michael Crichton. Alpert is not even close.

I did not like this book. While much of the science and technology does currently exist, the situations in which the author places the characters struck me as absurd. For me, this author does not pick up the torch Michael Crichton left. Ugh. Unless you're a total fan of this genre, do not waste your time.

This is again a great story and an exciting read. I wait impatiently for Mark's next novel.

"Fans of Michael Crichton's exciting blend of science and fast-paced action won't be disappointed by this near-future thriller, which combines a terrifying artificial intelligence, military secrets, and a father's race to save his daughter's life. Jim Pierce was once an NSA analyst who now designs bionic prosthetic limbs for wounded veterans; he even wears one himself. When he learns that his estranged daughter, a skilled hacker, has been targeted by Chinese security, he and a China expert with the NSA may be the only ones who can stop a malevolent China-based AI network that has been reprogramming and controlling humans, with an end goal of destroying mankind. The action ramps up to a series of nail-biting scenes, so you may want to set aside enough time to finish this book in one sitting." Terrifying to consider the science in this work of fiction already exists in many forms in the real world. Cyber insects can be seen on Youtube.
