One of my favorite read-alouds for a Thanksgiving storytime. The rhymes are not forced, and the story is funny. I especially like the message that spending time together with family is more important than turkey on Thanksgiving. Kids can relate to the protagonist's blunder. Caregivers can learn from the quick-to-forgive qualities of the grandparents. A book that's both funny and a warm fuzzy makes a great combo for Thanksgiving.
