A Beautiful Film elucidating the healing power of music and the sweetness of a simple life.

It was very interesting to watch this family interact with each other and their animals to watch their every day lives. If you want to get a glimpse into the lives of Mongolians then this is the film to watch!

This movie/documentary is showing incredibly beautiful people, the love they express in each of their day to day acts.
Their dignity, wisdom, ... the way they manage with the camel,... it's all magical and deeply moving

This is not an action film, and if you're not patient with documentaries about slower-moving cultures than ours you might not enjoy it, but I thought it was great.

The comments from thinktink and homoras say more about the writers than the film itself. This film explores something of value from another culture. The importance of camels in central Asia, especially a white camel, was emphasized by my international guest student from Kazkhstan. Viewed with an openness to this little understood culture, this film is interesting and makes one look at what is valuable in another way.

This movie was SUPER boring and extemely confusing. The plot was dull and the acting terrible. Other then that . . .

The setting for this film is on the wide expanses of Mongolia. The photography is exquisiyte: you can’t miss with all this countryside. The dialogue, spare though it is, is in Mongolian and camel. The plot is even thinner. The star is a baby white camel born to a mother who rejected him. I’m not too sure what the plot is --- I fell asleep just before the video was over and I still hadn’t figured it out.
A great bet for insomniacs, camel lovers and people with time on their hands. Surely there must be something worth watching on PBS.
Rating: don’t even fire up the DVD player for this one.

A remarkable documentary, I recommend it for both young families and those interested in Mongol culture in equal measure. It's truly amazing to see how traditionally the protagonists continue to live, although there is every evidence of encroaching modernity. Furthermore, their ability to manage their livestock, physically and emotionally, is awe-inspiring.

Check this one out; it may take a while to get going, but the pay-off is worth it!

This is a slow movie, but if you are curious about how life is in Mongolia's Gobi desert, or curious to see and hear lots of camels, including actually seeing a camel birth, it is a great show. Have a good luck at the ger (hut) in the final scene.
