The one fairy tale (or should I say frog tale) that struck me in this novel was the first, which conjured a moonlit, cottagey storytime atmosphere in my mind just because of the way the words floated around. It featured some elderly frogs who gathered to talk about the old days where their hero and idol, a particularly thoughtful frog, managed to jump over the moon. It was very sweet. You'll look at the right "eye" of the moon a little differently afterwards.
