This is a 1944 war-time romance directed by William Dieterle, based on a radio play by Charles Martin.
The film stars Joseph Cotten, Ginger Rogers, and Shirley Temple.
It is one of the best war-time romance-movies.
I really see the big cultural differences here.
This kind of romance-film had never been produced in Japan during the WWII---NEVER.
The Japanese war-time government banned all the heart-warming movies.
ONLY heart-hardening movies were allowed.
No wonder Japan lost the war.

This is a movie that where two different people meet on a train to get temporarily away from their troubles for the Christmas holidays. Together they mostly get over their troubles, and they show us all that we are never truly alone. Great cast!

Beautiful heartfelt romantic drama about two lonely lost souls with skeletons in their closets who find each other and click, against all odds (which includes a ditzy teenage Shirley Temple). Ginger Rogers was mesmerizing as Joseph Cotten's love interest.
