Common-sense observations and advice, from someone who knows what he's talking about. Highly recommended.

As I write, the Boston Marathon has been bombed, and people are busily cancelling their travel plans to the area. This despite local officials being on high alert, and therefore Boston is likely the SAFEST place to travel in the U.S.A. In Fear Less, Mr. De Becker explains why people react the way they do to vanishingly rare events. ETA: and now they're cancelling European travel plans, with perhaps slightly more reason. In a world of scare headlines about Ebola, Zika, terrorism, plane crashes and the like, this book is a bastion of sanity.
